Has there ever been a car that had some sort of hardwood flooring? Not counting Clarksons cottage Mercedes, and not like the wood slat flooring in the VW Thing. More like the floor equivalent of the teak decking on the Phantom Drophead.

Good point, but aren’t those structural? She’s meaning more like a luxurious feature instead of a carpet

even though it is structural, it can still be polished up quite nice, instead of carpet.......

Only the z06, and it’s the entire chassis. balsa wood wrapped in carbon fibre.

Wouldn’t your feet slip on it? Unless it wasn’t sanded or have laquer on it, but then it wouldn’t be luxurious.

Yeah, it certainly wouldn’t be practical. Probably only suited for passengers

If that’s true, that’s hilarious.

Yes! It’s the 2014 Monte Carlo Rascasse, and of course it’s from Monaco. The 5.4 V12 engine comes from BMW

Wait, you’re saying a car with a 6 3/4 litre engine worth a few houses is not practical? :D

There was a Peugeot 505 wagon up on BAT earlier this year which had laminate laid down in the back. It looked nice.

I suppose there is a reason why it is not happening: it would have to be something like veneer - very thin pieces of wood glued onto something else to give it rigidity. You don’t want splinters or jagged edges of wood in the event of a crash which involves floor deformation.
Needless to say, it would need refinishing from time to time. Unless it is teak, but then a car interior does not get washed by the sea.

I think I remember seeing something about JDM Cubes having laminate flooring as an option. But it’s a memory from many, many years ago.
